I would like to buy some of this batteries and make a pack. Could you tell me where did you bought this batteries and how did you made the packs (how did you solder them).

I got them from amazon.de (just entered NCR18650B)

one cell is about 9€

I did not solder them, I made the pack using copper contacts, made out of desoldering braid (hope this is the right word). I think I am not skilled enough to solder these cells.

Do you understand that your idea of using a lilo battery is an innovation?.

Everybody is going to use this batteries now. How did you hd the idea?

fyi...

im playing with these batteries (not for any records, but an fpv 'flier' with 12x4.5", 750kV and AUW of around 1500grams)...

x4 of these suckers at 3S:

10,000mAh
588grams including wire, plug & case
5C Constant / 10C Burst

= 17.00mAh / gram

and they cost about US$14 each

These Lipos have good specs, but your numbers are 3S the numbers you cited are 4S.

The innovation is to use them in parallel, not liIon usage itself.
Evaluated the usage of these cells long time ago with timecop in a skype chat, but the maximum current of 5 Amps stopped us to start project.

Now I will come with other innovation: use 18mm ID 0.5mm wall CF tubes for arms, and place cells inside for a more compact setup. The 4p setup translates into each arm embedding its own 3-4s pack.
Or, a not so much expensive alternative, titanium tubes with 0.2mm wall thickness, lighter and more resistant than equivalent CF tubes, and same price ballpark.
I donate this idea for a beer to anyone want to use it

This is not an innovation, it is "just" a battery with some specs, and if you have a setup that allows you to fly more that 60min, you are withing the specs of such a cell, so it is possible to use them. If you have a more standard setup with shorter flight-time, this setup will not work (the max. discharge rate is 2C).

The LiIon Cells can be recharged with a standard charger. I recharge at 0,5C, and I balance the pack.

Ferdinand, unlike alkaline batteries, the contacts of these rechargeable lipos are not part of battery body itself, and tin they are made is very easy to solder, just try on a cell.

Will increase the reliability, the mesh solution, even if ensuring multiple contact points due the sponginess nature of the coper mesh, is still not permanent contact, and unsafe in a vibration environment.

abused the copter to carry a gimbal:
BG-Gimbal for Sony CX250 first test flight (1 min 46 sec)

estimated flight time would be 40min (with the gimbal)

How do you connect the four batteries ?
Do you simply connect the batteries in parrallel or do you use any electronic to connect them ?

There are no balance problem ?

ive been running a twin setup for a while, and i just have them in parallel. nothing fancy. they discharge all ok, balance has never been a problem

i dont anticipate anything strange with increasing that to 4
