Build Log

Lowcost Multiprotocol PPM to DSM2/NINE EAGLE

Eh everybody!

An another arduino project in my poor overclocked brain.

It s an Multiprotocol to make Spectrum-Nine Eagle-Devo-WK for my MPX royal evo.

The base is an glcd nokia with joystick, a cyrf6936 tranceiver half duplex for devo tx (9€ on hirobo webshop) and porting some big part of DeviationTX..

Many, many thank to all contributor of deviationTX project and spécial guest star for PhracturedBlue .

So, i will post the code and the scheme to make it.
i will make some video to show you how it's work.

EDIT 29/04/2013:
OK, here come the video:
Multiprotocole DSM2 and J6PRO nine eagle (14 min 50 sec)

The code will come and i post the link in the video infos. this video is in french

i make another video, and i try to speak english, but you can show subtitle.

Multiprotocole english speaking (9 min 39 sec)

for this moment the only video i have is the prototype with the lp4dsm module.

Regards

EDIT 15/05/2014
Because i lost time to find information for pinout for all rf module, i post they here.
it s may be more helpful.
now i can add a nf24 to my protocol, with NineEagle v1 and hisky, upgrade dsm.

and all in small box with 3 led and 2 bp, to have in my small arduino Tx.

I found a board but not the same. this board have same function :http://cgi.ebay.fr/Graphic-LCD4884-J...item416c71d7e5

you can use this: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10168 and this https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11187 with some mode on joystick you can have the same function.

For the LCD4884 Shield Here's a list but one on ebay looks very nice.

Thanks for doing english video
RX flashing after dis-connecting battery is normal. All its telling you is Signal was lost. If you power down TX and RX and switch back on shouldn't flash.

You think rx flashing meaning signal lost?
but all work perfect, esc and servo.

If i lost signal how can i have this working?

It's ok
When you first switch tx/rx on, no flashing. But if you switch off only rx when you power it back on it will flash. Rx is to stupid to now you removed battery. It just thinks signal was lost since it was last connected to Tx.
So it's normal to see it flash. I had specktrum rx in my trex 450 never switched off tx when i changed battery, so next 8 battery changes my rx would flash unless i switched both tx/rx when i changed battery's.

What is the tx module out of? Will a magic cube work?

the tx out is serial ppm, standard for training.

it is like magic box, you can use the same plug for walkera.

in the zip file you have a schema.

the 2.4ghz module to use is this: http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/Transmit...duct_info.html

you can find it on other webshop.

If you thinking about re-use the 2.4ghz magic box module, i don't no if it's possible, maybe for DSM2 but not for Nine Eagle because you need telemetry for NE.

I have a TX module (X1TXN revB) from an old DX6 that I am trying to use with your firmware. It attempts to bind but it will not complete. During binding, the receiver light blinks slowly then goes out but it will never go solid. Any ideas why? As far as I know this module is almost identical to the one for the DEVO that has a link further up in this thread to the ehiribo shop. The module has a direct SPI interface to the Cypress chip.

Sorry i am back from holiday.

Ok, if it's the same module, i'm thinck the slow blinking and not go solid may be occurs in two possibilitie

the PPM signal is not correctly see. Have you the good number of channels on the lcd?
because if you have not ppm in, the led blinking slow, and go off.
the second is the module is not a correct power. or the antenna is not correctly connect.

i have some trouble with this, and it may need some update to select power out.

hello
if I may say so, this is a very clever project.
Not sure if I'm understanding correctly, are some protocols not working yet?
Are you planning to continue with development, as there's been no posts for a while?
merci beaucoup
