Power Pod for 3 Meter Plane

Has anyone seen an electric power pod for a 3 Meter sailplane? My friend has a Bird of Time and is interested in a power pod.

I have seen the Great Planes models, like this one:

but they say they are for 2 meter planes.

Not a great solution.... a big plane like the BOT needs a big prop so your power pod will be too tall and the thrustline will be way too high. That pod will take an 8" prop at most. If you really wanted to use it, you would have to put in a Mega brushless turning an 8x6 prop or a Magnetic Mayhem at least. Even then you would have marginally climb due to the small prop.

Better the surgically alter the nose and put the motor there. Then you have many more options....for instance, Endoplasma with MPJet 3.8:1 gearbox on 7 cells turning a 13x8 prop.

Thanks! I am still optomistic that someone has come up with a working solution.

I want to be able to put it on and take it off when I wish. If I embed a motor in it, I can't take that weight out when I want to hi-start it or winch it.

Hope springs eternal!
