Thx, updated. In no particular order but one of my faves I've had this list in an excel spreadsheet while I was researching options, thought it may be of use to others looking to fly over water.

Maybe u can add a umbrella to the center of quad or 4 umbrellas ....one to each motor by drilling into the motor tops.might act as a sail though.its foldable or u could probally just screa it in.

Hobby King X-4 FPV Alien

Just added Hobby Kings new affordable FPV frame. I'm thinking this is or could be waterproof as it's fiberglass? For such a low price I wonder how the quality of the dome is. May also be difficult to replace, it appears to be glued in.

AeroTestra was not sold to SkyCatch. They made an offer to purchase the design but the details of the offer did not work. Hugo is now for sale on Aerotestra.com

is there none that have som kind of protection for the motors?
As fare as I can see, all of this designs depends on the fact that our motors fine can handle freshwater, but we also know that seawater would kill them rather quick (?), I do most of my over water flying over saltwaters, and then I find my self split between low cost, low end motors that I just change from time to time, or more expensive motors and have to deal with the risk of loosing a lot of money..

When flying over saltwater how much shorter of a lifespan do your motors have?

Never seen a completely waterproof motor enclosure. I don't know from experience but based on what I've read the best thing is to run them in fresh water for a few seconds to flush out any salt water or salt air. Mixed reviews on whether to spray wd40 in motors afterwards to remove remaining water, some say it will eat the coatings inside.

I've been cleaning them in fresh water after each use, so I do not know if there is any shorter lifespan, but I do see some (can't spell that word) corosjon on parts from time to time that I do think is from saltwater..

I've been studying a bit about building a diy ROV and there is a lot of way making things waterproof, but I do not know how that would be with this motors and high rpm..

I'll keep flying my cheap diy pvc copters over saltwaters and just change motors from time to time, my question was more to learn something, and maybe find the perfect frame
