60'' balsa Douglas DC-6B (converted cargo) built from a Pat Tritle kit. Maidened June of last year and still flying today! Build thread.

1/20 61'' long Depron Douglas DC-9-10/15 currently under (slow) construction but I should be able to pick up the pace and finish it before June. Build thread.

My planned summer project: Douglas DC-9-33F out of depron.

your friend seems to be dedicated on making airplanes it is good because once you have plenty of airliners the last thing to do is to make or build hangar for them )) it's good for me to hear that you have 28+ plus air liners and i think you spent almost $10,000 on them =)

happy flying!

Pics

EFlite Airliner, pictures are from several years ago. Was flying stock on Eflite 450s, 2x 2100mah Lipos. Had a nasty accident on a touch & go when one motor quit. Airframe repair and refinishing might happen someday. Was a great flying plane (for an ARF)

Just noticed this thing has a kinda ANA livery... wonder if that was accidental? odd that I just noticed. lol!

A couple more...

While technically not an airliner... would a "charter service/air ambulance" count? Here's my extremely slowly progressing Cessna 310R scratchbuild... Like really slow... as in more than four years and counting.

It's a fine fiddly business.

Tritle / Dumas Dragon Rapide

I finished this Dragon Rapide in Iberia livery last summer. It was a super building experience and an advanced course in light weight stick and tissue style building.

Last night in preparation for this flying season, I made spinners out of 1/32 plywood and blue foam and fished them with water based polyurethane and craft store acrylic paint.

Despite a thin airfoil and long slender elliptical wings it flies very well because of a low overall weight of 16 ounces for a 42 inch wingspan biplane.

Dragon Rapide 4 0001 (4 min 8 sec)

This is a wonderful airplane.
