Let’s eschew obfuscation.

It rained 6 inches last night here in Walhalla. The radar suggested Woodruff had it worse. More is forecast for the next few days. I'll miss my annual day trip to the Nall.

Great photo, pecanpatch.

There are a lot of “locals” who have SlowBoats. It would be great to meet up with the creator someday. Maybe next year at Nall. We had a slew of them at SEFF and Hhaefi.

lookin good @ourbluehorizon!
few suggestions:
if winds are best at night for you, slo boat is great lit with LED lights!
slow her down a bit for landing, slo boat practically "floats" on air to!
check your cg, seemed a bit to far back or maybe expo needed in elevator
just some thoughts from watching your brief vid

once you get her dialed in, it will be one of your favorite planes on water!

Slowboat maiden

Thanks for watching. Yes the elevator does need more expo or lower rate for lift off. Cg needs some work. It was at correct distance but it does seem to fly a tad tail heavy. I've put leds on quite a few planes so i might put them on the slowboat. My only other seaplane is the scratch built polaris.
I've flown the slowboat hand launch in the wind. Take off on water in the wind is awkward as one wing tends to get swamped by the waves. Slow landings and skipping along the water is fun.

I recently received an inquiry as to whether the SlowBoat was still available.

I am 71 but I haven't thrown in the towel yet, so the answer is YES !

Is there enough room in the full size plane for a 2200 3S battery?
I have 4 that I use for another plane and would hate to have to buy new batteries specifically for this plane. Thanks

It will fit but you may need to put it toward the back of the pod to get a good CG. Lighter flies better, but a 2200 would be ok. I flew mine on an 1800 without issue but prefer 1300s

Thanks. What kind of flight time do you get out of the 1300's?

Easily 8-10 minutes. If you are more about 3D stuff probably 6-8. I've seen people getting 10-15 minutes but they really milk the throttle to eek out flight time. With a 2200, 10 minutes is totally doable with an efficient motor and prop combination, but again- light flies better on a SB.

1800 3S is my favorite for the std slowboat, all the way forward, 1300 had cg to far back for me (probably due to my build)

Hey gator-

On your mini boat, where did you put the tail servos? Mid boom? Same as the full size?

Rich, I can't find a pic of the servo placement on the 2/3sb but I'm pretty sure I did it very similar to the fullsize sb
(all servos in the wing)
