New Years Resolution...F-16XL

I've been screwing around with a Kyosho F-16 fuse and a custom wing design for a while now but the holiday vacation saw some progress. In December I had some wing cores cut by flyingfoam.com and it was easy as emailing him my compufoil files, wing layout, and a check. Two weeks later a box arrived and I had no other excuse to backburner it.
So, I've got to sheet the cores, add some carbon hear and there, figure out the CG and get cracking. It's going to have a Minifan 480, possibly a Hacker (whatever I have handy in the drawer), and use approx 10-12 1950FAUPs.
It's a stand off scale project so I'm not worried about the Kyosho fuse not being perfectly accurate.

Great idea Troy.

I wonder if the cg will move back from the original location?

LOL I was just playing around with that idea last week! go for it! I have a unbuilt KY F-16 I was trying to fihure out what i wanted to do with it. I allready made a foam expendable fuse to try wings out on it. I was going to try a MH 60 foil on it.

Very nice Troy and a great idea.

Please do it in a Ferris Heater camo....The Scamp (F-16XL) looked awesome in that scheme.

Troy,
FWIW I ran a Hacker B40 F5D on a mini fan with 10 1950 FAUP. 60ish amps of the charger seemed OK, but in flight the cells got hot enough to split the heat shrink and melt the solder! Didn't have any cooling on the cells though. 12 cells may be too many, 10 just enough, 9 is what I'll settle on - with cooling.

Troy, glad to see that your working on the F16. Looks like you fixed the fuselage without too much of a problem. I started mine finally I just got my Lipos for it. I am running a Mini Fan too. You going to run your 2 turn 05 that was in your last one? It looks real cool I will be watching your progress.

My first guess is that it may go back a little but I will play with that first before I get too ahead of myself. If it goes back too far I have to move heavy stuff around. I'd rather keep the batteries as far forward as possible so I can clean up the duct some...I'll have an answer shortly.

I have a couple different Hackers with milder kv and I also have an Astro. I will bench test before I commit to a motor.

I'm not familiar with this scheme. I was just going to go with the #1 XL scheme like in my avatar but I am a sucker for cool paint schemes so I can be persuaded.

As far as I calculated the C/G shouldnt move that far back at all.
