Wisconsin Scale Boating Association

craig_c suggested over in the floundering club thread that I start a thread for the WSBA, like he does for Spreckels Lake, and Capt Crash does for Montgomery Model Boat club. So here goes. We have a few of our members on here and I hope they will contribute.

Last evening we had our monthly meeting. Before it began a gentleman came into the room. Our secretary (boater_dave) asked him what we could do for him. You just never know what kind of answer a seemingly innocent question will illicit. He was waiting for his wife to arrive as she saw our website and had an idea. They wanted a favor. Every two years they stage a road rally. The rally has a scavenger hunt element to it. This year they would like to have a stop at our pond. There would be a task they would need to complete before continuing on. The guys thought it sounded like fun so I guess we are in.

That model was by Bob Potrykus. He passed away a couple of years ago. All his models were au naturel. The guy was talented.

Here are a few more examples.

Bob

Thanks Bill, I had seen his models, I JUST missed him unfortunately.

His widow had offered to sell the Vicky Lou to me but it was not complete and the price was out of my range.

He was an Amazing scratch builder, his style can be easily spotted from a distance...
