For Sale-(2) CD-ROM Drives for the Brushless DIY!

I have two CD-ROM drives that I pulled from my sons computers, they both have Drawer issues (Belts, Gears) but the all important Brushless Motors in them work fine!
These are aimed at the Brushless Motor Do-It-Yourselfers, you'll need to take the drives apart & pull the motors yourself, they will be shipped exactly as you see them.
I am thinking maybe a Price of $25 for the Pair (Free Shipping!)

-Anybody Interested? - I take PAYPAL only.

-Thanks-

Mike

What No Takers? How about $20 (Shipped) for the lot. Now that's a Deal!

You could get 5 shipped if you took them out and showed me the motors and one or both was ball bearing but anyone who does cd rom conversions knows that cd roms are free or at worst a buck a drive,I get mine for free at a local computer fix it shop.Take em apart, thats your best bet.Matt

Matt:
I know guys who are buying new drives for $25 each to get the motors, if you can get them for a buck go ahead. By the time I take the darn things apart & ship them for $5 it ain't worth it, like I said $20 for both shipped & YOU take them apart.

OK, OK, I stand corrected, you dudes know more about these things than I do. Items are Off-Sale, I will pull the motors out & chuck the rest in the can, maybe I will play around with these (Evidentally worthless) Motors, I am trying to make some money to buy a real Himax brushless motor & thought these might be worth selling.

-SORRY-

Its not that they are worthless, its that they can be found for nothing by the dozens. If you were to take them apart and rewind the coils to make a good brushless motor thjat ready-to-go, you could sell the pair for almost enough for a new Himax.

You also need to make a mounting plate and install new N45 magnets, fairly time consuming and less than half of the cd rom drives have good doner motors.Matt

And thats why the Little Screemers are so attractive, especially with the machined mounts and Neo magnets.
