All are invited to South Bay Soaring Societyís next program at 7:30pm 4/12/17 at the main Saratoga Fire Station.

The 24th Annual Los Banos scale soaring event will take place at the Los Banos Creek Reservoir State Recreation Area April 22nd and 23rd. • Scale models shown at Los Banos
  • What is demonstrated at scale model events
  • How to buy or build your own scale model
  • How does scale modeling differ from other sailplane events
  • How to launch and fly large scale sailplanes

Please join us and hear why this event is the South Bay Soaring Societyís highest profile event of the year for past 24 years.

Hi there - Kyle and I are arranging a "simulcast" of Lynsel's upcoming lecture via gotomeeting. Anyone interested in attending via gotomeeting can use the following link: https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/266304245
And use your laptop microphone or call 1-571-317-3122 access code/meeting ID 266-304-245 for the audio.
We will have the gotomeeting available starting around 7:20pm in anticipation of Lynsel starting around 7:30pm. This is the first time we are trying this, so apologies in advance if there are any technical difficulties.

Chris has been RC soaring and competing since the mid-1990s. On RCGroups he goes by “SoaringDude” and started the Electric Competition Soaring-F5J/ALES/e-Soaring thread at https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...is-on-for-2017. Recently Chris ran a series of F5J contests for the Sacramento Valley Soaring Society (SVSS) and established the f5j-usa.com Website. Chris has also been the chairman of the F5J-USA advisory group and you can see their contest calendar at http://www.f5j-usa.com/calendar/. Chris will be talking about his research projects that include marine robotic systems, clusters of autonomous land rovers, and our favorite autonomous aircraft & microspacecraft. Much of his work is around using clusters of autonomous surface vehicles (ASV) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to perform self direction or enhance single-pilot control. Donít miss our last talk of the year as we continue learn new things about the science and future science behind our hobby from the experts from the University of Santa Clara.

PS: We just managed to get on Chris's busy schedule by "flying stand-bye", little did I know his team is literally prepping for a satellite launch next week they are just ahead of schedule enough to talk to the South Bay Soaring Society.

See You There,

Sounds great - looking forward to "attending" via GoToMeeting.

But I notice the link above goes to an error page. Is that the correct link that will light up once the meeting starts, or is there a typo somewhere?

Looking forward to it!
