OK I guess I could offer the KF wing as an option in Depron.
However, It would require another sheet of Depron.

Or, with Kens permission, I could offer an MPF version like his KF layout.
I have lots of MPF in stock also.

Below is the Depron layout.

Bob,

You have my permission and I'd even send you my file if that would help.

More Progress

Started putting the sub assemblies together.

Did all the fairing on the vertical fin prior to installing.

Sides installed.

Hello thach , I learned how to fold wings over on this build thread and then made my own airfoil off of a canard plane iam building .Thats what the wing i showed is for but it could be used for any plane i guess. Here is how to make the wing .https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ghlight=ultron And here is a pdf with a airfoil iam using . If you need diheadral you can use balsa main spar and angle it or add a double in the middle of the 2 wing halfs to get the diheadral . I like this airfoil because it has a flat bottom and makes it easyer to build on foam . joe

Everyone, thank you very much for the advice and useful information!
I have not once did the wing profile for their models. For example here is:
http://rc-aviation.ru/component/cont.../294-tkach/873

I carefully studied the drawings and your advice and decided to wing removable. To do this, I will refine the design of its fastening. It will take some time.

Vladimir,

A removable wing would be great asset to this design. I would like plug in type and am trying to figure out the details before I am ready to glue them in.

More progress.

Sanding out the wingtip with the KF panel has allowed me to gently upsweep the tip a bit. Giving a nice graceful tip. Bob's KF panel was the inspiration for this treament.

Marcel,
The Mermaid is going to be a popular plane.

Yours flys great.

Can't wait to get mine done.

I've used CF tubing for plugin wings.
I have even mounted them with an offset of their diameter.
That makes one wing behind the other by ~ 3/8" but it didnt seem to matter.
I tie them together with Kevlar thread and CA and secure the inner fuse sides with a thin ply lamination for mounting the wing plugin / braces.

I also use a TE wing PIN to prevent wing rotation.
This worked on an Electric MiniPegasus TUG design, 60" , that I used to tow up Cularis sized gliders.

thanks again Ken and Marcel

So far I only have shipped two and no reply regarding the MPF option.

Maybe it's too close to Toledo or the start of flying season for guys to get involved.

Marcel,

Thanx for the video. It looks like a very nice flying model with short and easy takeoff and landing performance. Great looking and able to withstand toddler handling too!

I have some 8mm spiral wrapped CF tubes that would make great sockets, and 6mm is a slip fit. I could stagger these in the fuselage putting a 6mm tube in front of the spar on one side and behind the spar on the other. My wing has 5mm tube spars. Then an anti-rotate 2mm just in front of the aileron hinge line, with a 3 x 2mm tube in the fuselage. Okay, that is sorted. I will probably have something at the LE as well.

What is the best practice or retention method to keep them from pulling out?

Giant scale Gliders use hooks on each wing and a spring in between.

Or on foamys I 've used tape.

BTW I got your latest SKP plan and it imported nicely into Rhino.
After I realized that all I had to do was select the meshes and delete them I was home free !

I rearranged some parts to more easily cut the finished sheets into sizes
that will fit in MY shipping boxes. 18" wide and 40" long

I will be able to offer MPF Mermaids any time they are needed.
