Latest Pics

Progress has been slow. Lots of distractions with the prep for construction of the new hangar, er... garage.
I have managed to get some work done. Here are the latest pics!

Bob, nice kit, everything going together easily with good fit! BTW I like the V-Tail in post #136 is that the 'Enicuris'?

Looks good. I like the idea of adding 6x6mm strips along all of the deck and bottom glue joints as done with the Polaris.

Thanks!

Thanks Ted!!

I also found putting the fuselage sides on a bit fiddly. I wound up with a bit of a fore/aft twist that I had to sand out.

The 6x6 bracing all around is a very nice and practical idea when it comes time to do a bit of sanding to blend it all together.

Also.......

I also added the extra belly bracing be cause I'll be flying from what passes for 'grass' in central Arizona.
I'll be making liberal use of the 'Slick Stuff' from BirdofPlay to minimize the effects of tumbleweed stubble. I'll post a 'survivability' report after the Mermaiden!

Got mine from HobbyLinc. They come in two sizes, the large ones in my pictures above and the small are about half that size. I have several of each size and found them handy for many build tasks. Both sizes are shown on the first page of this link:

http://www.hobbylinc.com/clamps_tweezers

They may be available from craft stores as well.

I saw them first in a post Bob N. (Birdofplay) made of his build in The Twins cargo plane from Foam and Tape. Thanx again Bob.

Now that I've fabricated my own and my Mermaid is almost done........

They look great Ken!! I'm just sad because they won't get here in time for my next build, I've started a BD-5 this evening.

Buk,

Kits are available here http://www.balsabuddies.com/

Look under the products button and scroll down.

I will be offering my own version of Marcel's design, but am not ready.
