thanks hybris
maidened it today. it turns out i need 0.5oz of dead weight at the tail to balance it right. with the 2 cells 340SHC, i need 0.3oz to balance it just wondering, with 3s,C gear box and 1047., the razor draws >10amps i thought the 340 can only do 20C at max. i don't how you guys do it. even w/o the dead weight, mine still weighs 8.7oz. anyways, i still flies great. i am going to try a 1147 prop tomorrow. i should have 17oz of thrust according to the motor chart |

I made the Canopy with a Marks Alot Permanent pen, this depron colors very smoothly! I was expecting to get marker lines like on paper or lighter colors but it came out perfect. I will be installing the radio gear as soon as I get it.

razor 300 setup
Hey Katana, I'm the friend that Hybris was talking about. I am using a Razor 300 with GWS EPS C gearbox and 2s1p Kokam 340 SHC with a 10 X 4.7 prop. At full power, it draws 7.3 amps. I have been flying that setup for quite some time now and I have many flights on my batteries and they still work, (although they need to be replaced.) I only need to burst full power. It hovers at half power. I also sometimes fly with a 3s1p Kokam 340 pack which (believe it or not) actually lengthens my flight times because it hovers at such a low throttle setting. That pack is simply insane, (which means fun in airplane-speak.) My all up weight is 7.5 ounces after zillions of crashes and lots of ProBond.
That will help your weight, but I'm not sure it will account for 9 ounces. I will say that I did not do anything to stiffen the plane anywhere except on the horizontal stab at the root. I used glue sparingly and it has held together through much abuse. (Fuselage snaps are frequent with my plane, but it takes 5 minutes to fix them.) If you can find the source of your extra weight, you will find much better aerobatic performance. It flies great heavy, but it is more like an airplane than an aerobat. Joe. |

ProBond ooze
Hi Blackhawk3D. I agree with RCZohn; I've been using a dremel and fiberglass cutoff wheel for some time now to remove the ooze. You will still be left with the ugly color, but if you are concerned about looks, you could put a little paint there or something.
Joe. |

thanks Fly Tailheavy
i guess those mini ezconnectors and 2 inch tapes (i covered the leading edge with the tape) account for some of those extra fat. but tonite, i tried the 1147. much better. vertical is way better i do notice that the elevator vibrates quite a bit from the prop blast. how do you guys fix that? |
