that is easy, if you do not like the pricing, there is no need to buy it, it is a free market. Furthermore this is hobby, so asking for the sense of a gimbal on a multicopter is a good question, but the answer is simply fun,("must have", dreaming of ap, whatever, ...)

have fun, be happy

Registered User is an awesome place to order your Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal.

Its $699 for the gimbal and they have tons of great videos showing the gimbal.

Here's an example:

Not quite. It is still only 2-axis so it does not do pan axis stabilization. There is clear side-to-side movement in every example video I've seen posted.

Wooooh hoooooow!
Finally, the price is here
$699 is s lil bit over the top but its still a good price. $699 now plus price drop later down the road I notice that's their style.
Sounds like a winner.
Now when can I own one?

There are going to be MANY pissed off Phantom customers which think this is plug and play but will discover its in fact more hassle to install than ANY other gimbal on the market. With an Alexmos board, you can just bolt on your gimbal, even supply it with its own battery. 0 wiring. You don't need to touch the Phantom unless you want to have tilt control.

This, on the other hand, will require opening up the Phantom, installing the PMU (which is not included and in short supply), wiring stuff... and among the rivers of hype and the rush of preorders, this isn't communicated to the customers at all.

Nice to finally know for sure. $699 seems a bit steep, on the other hand if it is as plug and play as promised it might be worth it for not having to tinker with settings.

At $699, I'm gonna wait and see how the opinion goes once it is in the hands of the masses. If it had been $499, I'd already be on the phone.

I guess I'll wait for the 3 axis version to come out to see how the price on the 2 axis version drops. Now I just need to figure out how to get a preorder refund from dronefly

I am not very happy... $699 plus an extra $65 to buy a PMU needed for the Phantom. What pure BS... I thought this would be plug and play for all Phantom users. If it needs a PMU at $699 it should be damn included.

Does it even include the switch for the 7th channel to tilt? Looks like it don't....

It looks nice enough. But $699 is quite high in my book. I'm gonna wait all this out and buy "a" gimbal later down the road when everything is cheaper.

Pay to play, I guess.

It is very nice, but wish they included all we need. I will still buy it, I have a preorder with UAV products and just waiting to hear from Robert. I am sure he is busy now getting all things ready to ship. Luckily I found a shop here in Japan that sells the PMU V2

Well, i just dropped almost 1300$ with uavproducts. I got the pre-order for zenmuse for gopro paid, an ARF 450, a V2 NAZA, and then another Rx from dragonlink. Now both my gopros will have brushless gimbals on their own 450. Now to upgrade my AG550 for my NEX5 to brushless on my 550 and I won't need to buy anything else for a while, (I hope).

Phew, a lot of cash! I am ready to give my cash to Robert at UVAproducts, just waiting to hear from him. I was # 100 out of 150 preorders.

How do you find out what pre-order number you are? I got an email from him early this morning. I wonder where I am in line?

Here is the first line of the email I got from Robert:
First batch of Zenmuse H3-2D will be shipping on the 24th to us. Please submit the remaining payment by June 21 or your pre order position will be lost.
