Here is a link to tell you about what the FAA is planning to do to our hobby, and how you can send your comments to the FAA if you care:

Hey,

Im about to build the 62 version FlyGuy, I saw some motors and I still have one laying around.
I have these 2 motors, which one will suit the 62 inch Flyguy?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...er_1200kv.html

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._version_.html

If one of the 2 would fit the flyguy, then which size prop would I need?

Actually I'd like to make the 46 inch flyguy but I can't find any tiled plans of it (someone a link?)

(I will make it out of 6mm depron)

Thanks already!

Of the two, the second motor will work but you will have to go 6s with an 8x4 prop. Really recommend you consider an Eflite power 10 motor, 3s. Can't help with the 46 tiled plans, just what's on the build thread.

Use Acrobat X or higher and it will print the pages as if initially tiled.

Iron Man survives Maiden Flight

Fantastic test flights yesterday! adding mask to see what effect it has. Also motor ran hot even though amps were @59 static so will try 2 blade 10x6 instead of 10x7x3.
Motor Turnigy 3536 1400kv 60a esc. 630 watts.
Also made custom pull-pull horns. Videos soon.

Looks kinda scary with the mask on.
Pull-pull cables are the best, I use them on everything I can.
Did it fly well with the mask?

Test flight video

The Iron Maiden Lol.
Flew very stable only a couple of clicks of trim. 36oz because of additional structural reinforcements for larger motor. Next some touch ups, reprop and add mask.

Can you give us a hint as to where you set the CG on this and and did putting the mask on change anything? I still have yet to get my Flygirl in the air. She's got a full manikin head but I think my motors are mounted in the wrong place. I need to remove them and re-install them a bit lower in the chest.

Maybe a little pitch-up with the mask. Great flyer.

Weather turned bad so haven't flown with mask yet. CG exactly where Otto said 1/2" in front of top notch. I inserted a piece of fishing line tied and glued around a small piece of CF, easy to check cg and lateral.

Here is the video of my first successful (sort of) flight of my Flygirl. It's got dual motors/ESCs and runs on 3s, 3300mah battery. I ran out of juice on the landing run and it hit the ground somewhat abruptly and broke her boobs. When I give her a new boob job, I'll replace the motors and props with a more powerful setup. It's somewhat under powered and it's quite nose heavy. The battery will be moved back a fair bit on the rebuild. She flies OK but needs high rates for decent response. I think the manikin head and wig disrupts the aerodynamics.
This vid was made with a wingcam clipped to my ballcap. The sun was in a poor position at the time, in a rather overcast day. Hence, the dark background some of the time.

Looks like she was flying well until the abrupt ending. Good luck on the boob job and send more video.
