Maybe the tree needed trimming?

His pitch was reversed. Throttle down was positive pitch and throttle up was negative pitch.

Newbie with a 700 size.

Notice when it takes off he isn't even looking at the heli. He is looking at his Tx.

It was in full positive pitch.

Amazing someone would try to fly a heli that big in such a location. Plus out of ajustment. Poor soul I don't think will be with us long if he decides to keep flying !

I hate waiting for parts

Saw that the other day... absolutely hilarious. His positive/negative pitch was correct; I think the problem was that he was running way too much head speed for a heli that size. If that was a 700, he should have been in the 2100 - 2300 range. That sounds like 3000 RPM lol. He was standing too close to it, IMO. He's lucky it didn't hit him; we're talking life-atering injuries with that ridiculous head speed.

Was the heli severely damaged after that?

If you watch the full clip (about 5 min. long....) the guy paces back and forth around the heli before spooling it up, shutting it down....THEN....spooling it up..with the results shown!!
He goes out-of-frame after re-installing a battery...and the clip ends....
I was waiting to see if this stooge was actually gonna come back....
And TRY IT AGAIN....!!
Pretty expensive weed whacker, if you ask me!!

I believe a pre-requisite for any new pilot should be aware of the dangers of our models.

Thanks for posting that. The higher rez vid was much better. I could see the guy's facial expression and I laughed like it was the first time I saw it! I wonder if this poor chap knows his video is being seen the world over and being laughed at hysterically! It would not bother me, personally, you gotta have a sense of humor in life.

Wow, that link, horrible! I have had a very minor cutting event with a 300 size heli on my hand so I am SUPER paranoid when powering up or testing any heli. WATCH FOR THROTTLE REVERSE SETTINGS WHEN SETTING YOUR ESC!!!!!!
