Single board computer notes

As a means of embedding all the machine vision computations in a self contained ground station, a few better alternatives to the raspberry pi are slowly emerging.

Quad 1.4Ghz for $175, equivalent to 6 raspberry pi's on a single slightly smaller board for a lot less money. There seems to be a 1 year lag from the time a new performance level reaches phones to the time it's available as a standalone board. Using a rooted phone itself for the same computing power remanes insanely expensive.

The raspberry pi has never been very stable at any clockspeed. It's certainly unusable at 1ghz, but it's not bulletproof at any lower speed. It's getting power from a 5A power supply & has a fan cooling it.
