Guillows Super Cub question

I'm a first time poster here.

I built and flew RC floaters and slope gliders in California several years ago, but am sitting here in France with a broken leg and got the urge to build a free flight for fun. I bought the 24" Super Cub kit.

I've done some searches, but not found the right thread to answer my question.

I have no intention to turn this into a RC plane. That said, what are the best ways to take out weight, especially aft, without sacrificing durabilty?

Secondly, what is the best rubber band setup to get the best performance?

Thank you in advance.

piper super cub question

Thank you for the links.

I wish I had found this site and the others first, but I'm going to try to lighten the build and do some of the other things I read about, and see what happens.

Thank you.

Welcome to rc groups.
Laminate the tail surface outlines out of 1/16" x 1/32" strips to save weight.
I would say a loop of 1/8" rubber would work well.
You might try posting your question in the free flight forum here.
Those guys will help you.
