Open Source Brushless Gimbal

Hey,
since Alexmos started his brushless gimbal, a lot of people started something similar.
a friend of mine and me dicided in decmeber last year, to do something like alexmos and in the last weeks, it developed pretty fast.
here you can see our code and hardware:
http://code.google.com/p/brushless-g...downloads/list

here a video with the latest version, but with only quick PID tuning:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=-6JbgX1nvAk

it all started in the fpv community:
http://fpv-community.de/forumdisplay.php?11-Projekte

the hardware is pretty simple and lowcost, similar to alex.

Maybe some of you guys want also to jump on the open source train

Alex

Good idea to have a english thread as the german language is hard to understand.
to get the ball rolling we need a source for PCB manufacturing and parts.
more folks would jump on if the board was easily available for purchase. "at A reasonable low price"

Some one with the know how could take the schematics, part list and run a 100 board batch similar to the germans. (The first batch of the german board sold off in like one day I think)
That way more folks would have a board to tinkle with which in turn will draw more code guru to the table.

By the way If any know how to person choose to run a 100 board batch on here,
Do put my name HEXA at the top of the first batch list. Regards

.yes we are on the train. we just rewound the motors and built a simple prototype for testing. we used 0.2mm wire to rewind the emas motor with 60 turns.
and totalweight of the gimbal is around 220g included the control board.

hopefully we will have time to do a test flight test tomorrow...

hello everyone...

i would be very interrested to "get in the train" as all those people following the german thread, sadly , it is kind of hard for me to read that (but english is more than ok)

is that possible for us to locate the necessary information as where to buy the board if we can buy it (or were are the schematics) and put the link in this thread

but also what sensor to use, what gimbal design must be use, what kind of motor is better, how to rewind that.

i would be more than interrested to be a beta tester if needed, i can rewind brushless, read C code if needed ,cut with cnc, mill simple boards, and also fly and test the gimbal for real

i'm begining with what i found:
schematics are here of course: http://code.google.com/p/brushless-g...downloads/list

looks like motor winding is here (but in german and google translate is not very accurate ) :
http://code.google.com/p/brushless-g...ikiPageWickeln
didn't found the sensor used

but i finally found the website...

Excuse me!
The MPU6050 is wellknown & excellent in ACC & GYRO ic. but what's T1 &T2 ic in hardware schechter?

I am on the list for the next batch of BL boards, I cant wait

I have rewound 2x RCTimer 2830 750KV for my GoPro gimbal. Obviously I have no controller to test it on, but after taking meter readings ( 10.6 ohms over 2 phases ) using 60 turns of 0.18mm I put it on a normal ESC.

It works, it spins up, very slow compared to stock so I presume KV is down and torque is up. However it stutters at very low speed, and had no torque at all. Is this right bearing in mind its a stock esc its on ?

Autodidact
I really am interested in this idea... I love open source and building my own electronics when worthwhile
