After stepping away from this and then coming back I realized that I now put the weight totally on Mike's shoulders which isn't fair and wasn't my intent.

When I approached Mike, I said "if you cut me a couple of frames, then the design is all yours to do as you see fit".

I haven't even talked to Mike about this yet but I wanted to own up to that.

After I talk to Mike, he and I will make a decision together and one of us will report back.

On a separate note, the thought of "open sourcing" multirotor designs that guys like mike and Dialfonzo can download and cut, along with 3D printer parts that all of our printer guys can print, is inspiring me to put my web application development skills to work in making a design hub where guys like KKUSA can post designs, others can tweak, then other members can download and print/cut.

This would result in some great options cropping up right here in North America and a chance for these guys that shelled out for the printers and CNC machines to get a return on their investment.

There is a lot of work in that design so it's really up to you guys to get it Open or not.
I was just wondering since you did put the files here.. HaHa.

There is also many DIY people that can do amazing things with basic tools.
I have see kits of people that only have a hand saw and patience comming with awesome things.

Nope, no files here!! Those are just a "preview" 3D model of the entire assembly in a lightweight config to view in EDrawings. They cannot be used to make the parts directly. I suppose somebody could copy it from it, but they could do that from the pics if they wanted to.

Yea, I've seen some stuff people have done with coping saws that are pretty slick. A LOT of work though!!!

Ok folks,

We are going to keep this close to the vest for just a little while just to give us a chance to work out some kinks.

There is a strong probability that we will open it up in the near future however so stay tuned.

Thanks,

Matt

Attachment 5524154

I think you may find that his 250 motor mounts may not fit with the motor slots at 45deg relative to the arm. If the motor mount tab is under 6mm wide, they will, if its wider, they will interfere with the side plates. I'm not sure exactly how wide they are. Matt will need to measure them. Or just go with motors that will mount on top.
