Night Flyer


Hey, guys... don't let the darkness keep you from flying. Check out my Mk III IFO with LEDs on it. Dan, I've been flying this one for almost two years, now. Added the lights, recently. Thanks for a fantastic design.

LED Power


Mike,

I'm tapping the 4.8V that goes from the ESC to the receiver. Here's a diagram; I hope you can read it.

I'm going to try that - daytime is short here in Finland during winter. By using lights I should be able to extend my flying time...

Gary, I browsed through your web pages and... I just love your B-36J Peacemaker!!! Looks absolutely fantastic airborne!!!

Multi-motored slow- and parkflyers are fascinating. I'm going to build 1.05m (42in) wingspan C-130 Hercules powered with four small taiwanese DC-motors in the very near future...

that was a great night shot of your plane! I've done some night flying and it is great. I don't have lights on mine so I have to take things easy to keep oriented. With the lights, I bet it is alot better.

Mike,

The C-130 is a great design for small electrics. My 36 in. span flies very well on N-20s. Have fun!

Go to an electronics supply store, and ask for high-intensity LEDs. They may not be on the shelf, because they're a little pricey (3 to 4 dollars).

My local Radio Shack does carry a small selection of high intensity LEDs. I even bought an orange 10 mm one there. Other wise check out www.hosfelt.com

Thanks for the link. In case anyone is curious, the blue LEDs on my IFO are 1000 mcd (brightness, sort of).
