Cox 09

Hi guys,
I just got a Cox 09 R/C new in box, it was actually still tied down, so it look like it has never been out of the box!!

Just wondering what it is worth. Also came with a spare crankcase and spare muffler. Can post pics if you like.

Thanks guys, for some reason I thought it may have been worth more. I might have to build something for it now!!

I noticed that about the head. I thought that TD .09 RC carb was stock. It looks like the one on this cox history page:

Actually, the TD .09 RC from the Cox history page appears to have the same glow head as Mickey's engine...

It all looks like stock to me, it is an TD09RC and they came with a regular glow-plug, just as the queen bee did (same heads).

MT,

That engine you have is worth over $200 as it was only made for 2 years and probably only 2000 were ever made which is really low production number for a Cox engine.

Wow!!!
Thanks for that Jason, looks like I'll keep it in the box (which I don't think it has been out of). I'm not a real collector of Cox engines although I've had and used a lot over the years.
Any offers for this one?

Very nice find --- I agree, looks stock to me.

Send a note and pictures to Bernie at COX International. He might very well make you an offer.

Yep, that is one of the Cox TD 09's and it's all factory stock. I'm not sure what their value is, but as Jason_WI said, they had a limited production run over 2 years, so it is quite rare.

Cox actually produced a small pattern plane for this engine called the Scorpion. Wood fuselage, foam core wing.

Get an AP .09 for $35 and save the Cox or sell it. It is only money though. You can always get more money. It would be different if you had 1000 motors.
