In the photo in the first post, of the fan, the caption reads" EDF With 1500kv motor Fitted 2.5kg of thrust which is around 7.6lbs"

The 7.6 lbs should read 5.5 lb thrust. You would need 3.45Kg thrust to get 7.6lbs.

And probably a more robust ESC but you should be able to verify when testing the power set-up on a test stand.

Good idea. It's always a good idea to have a little head-room (and not rely too much on the ESC rating).

Keenan, when dealing with the EDF's and especially anything over a 70mm, your going to have to think of high amps, hi voltage, high capacity/C rated batteries. Everything on something like this is high capacity right down to the connectors you use. I noticed you had an XT60 on the 100 amp esc,, not big enough, go to 4mm bullet connectors, you'll find that that is what the larger batteries come with. Good luck, w

Yup.... Those are xt60's i have ised these up to 75a and they worked fine, but being that i wont even be using that edc in the plane any more i may aswell solder on the connectors i use.
I will be ordering either a CC 120A HV ESC or a Red Brick 120A HV ESC and soldering on some 4mm bullet connectors, (being that red brick has served me well in the past (i may go for the R.B. Esc ) and a larger capacity lipo e.g. Nano tech 5000mah.

Im considering skipping the 5s operations and going straight for 6s (my motto is more power for a reason!)
