I like the zip tie clamps. You have done a nice job on the framework.

I don't know about you guys, but when I built my first scratch boat, I was still working and supporting a family. I couldn't afford to spend the $ for a kit, but if I took that money and spread it out over 12 months, it was doable.

Now its a whole different situation; I can afford to buy the kits, but now I want to build models that aren't in kit form anymore.

Tim, are you going to use blocks or plank the bow?

Hi Charlie, after looking at some other big boat builds, looks like the thing to do is use blocks at the bow, that bull nose shape is what were after and No Way can I get that with planks to the cutwater ( see pic, Tinknocker's scratch built Cat, THAT is the shape I am after )

Likely go with solid sheets from stern as far as possible then diagonal planks up to the blocks.

First I think I better do some planning of rudder tube/stuffing tube positioning while that area is unplanked.

Never set up a twin motor model before so I will need to study what others have done ( and have had success )

WIDE open to suggestions !
