That's funny, the radar shows the weather coming from the south.

It's not just about flying an expensive plane. It's about getting together and having fun. If we have to wait out a little rain so be it. It's about being with old friends, talking with new ones and bragging about how each of us is a better pilot than the other. I'll be there right after breakfast and flying any chance I get.

This year, I bought a kite just in case it was too windy to fly.

Next year, I'm bringing a hovercraft in case it's too wet to fly.

Does anyone know if the vendors will be there tomorrow as well? I would like to drive out there, but it is a long way to drive with my boys just to find the weather has kept people home.
Thanks

Phoenix radar shows that the rain extends 113 miles to the west in a solid band, with the heaviest rain now concentrated just west of Buckeye and heading east. The storm has only moved about 40 miles since I started watching it around 7 this morning. I think we're in for an all day rain, although there may be brief periods when it stops. It is a pretty solid blanket with a clear spot centered on Tempe right now, but there is a huge band behind that to the west and extending as far south as the Mexican border.

We were watchong pilots punch through the clouds this morning and then trying to figure out where it would come back out....only the pilot knew. Fun times are what you make of a situation. I am having FUN.

Around 11:00 the rain started tapering off. We got some flying time in, the raffle was held, and several vendors opened up shop. Then the rains came back, but it wasn't steady. We'd still get periods of light drizzle to no rain. There were plenty of brave souls on hand to fly and buy.

I put my F-22 in the clouds three times, almost lost it once. Fun times!

I will be back out tomorrow regardless of the weather.

Rain is ending now, and the sky is starting to clear some. Forecast is for scattered light showers tomorrow, rain chance 30%. Should be a good day for flying!
