when i first saw that heli, this is exactly what i wondered about. it would be interesting to see if these would work in the um gear drives.

So do you plan on using 2cell or 3cell since the kv is low?

This is the grey area Chester... we'll have to find out what sort of load it can handle. If going 3S I would start thinking about installing bearings - much like back in the day with the 2g outrunner that ran on bushings.
I guess it's down to application in the end. A 2S with plenty of grunt(for it's size) so heavy paddles and more of them for slower flight or 3S, 3 blades, with high efflux for zipping around.

Kevin,

I lost track of where the AS3X mixing is explained - can you point me there, please?

There is an Aux channel on the AS3X RX's---Channel 5...This port also allows you to program the AS3X RX for the plane you choose---Sbach, Beast---Whatever...Use the manual to go back and forth between programming and using this aux channel for an extra channel...Mix the aux channel to the throttle and you can run an external ESC for up to 4S power!!!...I have used the aux channel to run external ESC's for 3S power in my Beasts...The same can be done here...This is an abreviated explanation...Just go to the RX manual and it will explain how to program the RX using a special cable and mixing the 5th channel for whatever you desire...

That's great news and all. But lets not get too side tracked. What will this do on 1s with say a GWS 30mm or a sanded down to 25mm rotor in a B.I.M. case. Nitro you posted this on one s right, and it seems to make good thrust in the standard UM gear box, what do the numbers look like in one of our fans? I know you don't have any thing else to do, like family, job or life right? Just kidding thanks for all your hard work.
