Extreme Flight 60" Extra 540T EXP

So I just picked up this plane courtesy of a fellow RCG'er, absolutely stunning in person. I love the red, white and blue scheme.

It sports a Motrofly 4315-480 Motor, CC Ice Lite 75 esc, swinging a 15x7 prop (I have a 16x8 to try out for ballistic power; 1700 watts). Hitec 5245mg's all around.

Going to be flying 3d with the 2 6s 3300 packs that came with it. Now I need more batteries! I am stoked.

Adding a couple videos from the first 2 flights

Extreme Flight 60 Inch Edge 540T Maiden (4 min 4 sec)

Extreme Flight 60 inch Edge 540T, flight number 2, crash at end (1 min 49 sec)

That repair came out GREAT! I love how tough these planes are, I can't believe the fuse didn't completely collapse inward from the wing hitting that hard. Looks like there was a little damage but when i did just about the same thing(actually i crashed softer than that!)with a different manufactures plane i crushed the whole side of the fuse to dust.

Thanks man!

Yeah the side of the fuse where the wing connects had a few pieces cracked off, 2 formers inside were cracked in 3 places each as well. I forgot to take pics of the inside of it. All in all, I would say it held up better than I would have expected. I agree, I think that crash would have caused me to have to buy another airframe if it was any other brand.

This was my first time doing a real balsa repair which involved removing and re covering the repaired areas. I'll be honest, I don't know why I was so afraid to get my hands dirty with balsa. It's actually really easy to work with, and the covering cleans everything up really nice. I'm not wising for another accident, but now at least I am confident I can handle a repair job if it came down to it. I still feel like I want to get a spare airframe just in case, I really do like this airframe quite a bit.

At this point all that's left is to inspect the servos and re hinge the aileron.
