It's an epidemic ! Tom's building the earliest version, the monoprep. I have not been this excited over a model in years..Everything 'jelled' at the same time. I stumbled on a disassembled full scale,at the same time a kit became available.

Thanks for looking in, Tom. As you can see, we like to have fun during our builds.

Do you guys ever build something and then have seconds thoughts about it ?

I did, with the cabin sides. I removed the 1/4 balsa pieces, and cut new parts from 1/4 ply, and glued them to the fusege sides. While the glue was drying, I made templates and cut out the fuselage cabin formers, using cartoon wood.

I then cut the rear fuselage spreaders, from 1/4 square stock.

Starting at the front, I joined the fuselage halves.

Second helpings

I try to plan ahead and not have do-overs, but they still happen...Yeah, Tom,I've changed things on occasion.
I try to leave the engineering alone, but I have replaced heavy for light, or the other way, if I think it's necessary.

The more I thought about, the more I realized what the designer had in mind.

It really wasn't a big deal to cut out and install the new parts. I'm glad that I took the time to do it.

Today, I cut out the turtledeck formers, installed them, and added the stringers.

Not the last time that I looked. LOL

I've been spending 2-3 hours a day in the shop. This isn't my first trip around the block. Progress may seem fast, but it really isn't

I failed the Evelyn Wood speed building class.

Sorry, Trey.

You're not very late. I'm only a week into the build.
