The 48" MXS is the best value in RC in fun/$, with the caveat that I haven't flown an Extreme Flight laser, which a lot of people seem to like.

Here is one of my favorite flights I captured on video...I love the way this has graceful yaw maneuverability during elevators (e.g., at 2:40), how easy they are to get into KE spins (without the racing wing tips), the high beta KE ease of entrance and maintenance (3:25) The video, I'm a little heavy handed on the sticks, and wind was gusty at times, but for some reason I just like the video, and smile after watching it about as much as I was smiling after I landed.

It was about 1 year after I flew my first RC airplane ever.

It has hitec 5065x3 and 5085(elevator) servos, the recommended Torque 2814/820 motor and Airboss 45A ESC....APC 12x6e on this flight. I now fly an Xoar PJN 12x7, and really like that prop on this plane. Using gens ace 25C 4S 2200 mah or Revolectric 60C 4S 2200 mah, can't remember which for this flight, I use both.

Thanks man! It takes some flights to get used to if you haven't flown one before--it did for me--but I think you'll be in love by the 20th flight, you'll be seriously thinking about the 64". But I would never sell my 48" MXS, too much fun. What are you doing for servos?

Actually I have the exact same setup as yours, 5065's on everything but the elevator which has a 5085mg. Stock power combo, turnigy 4s 2450's and a Falcon 12x6 prop.

Pretty cool. I didn't like the falcon 12x6 on mine, but other people liked it on theirs. Then again, part of the problem might have been I had a cracked prop for the last flights and didn't realize it.

Which do you recommend? Xoar? APC? I have both on hand I just haven't tried them. I recently just switched from 3s and a 13x6.5 to the 12x6 and 4s.

Well, I fly a 12x7 xoar, but I don't know if I recommend it...would hate for an ESC or motor to go out. Others have liked the falcon 12x6, so give it a try. I tried a aeromodelinc CF 12x6...looks awesom in CF, but I didn't like it either, so it's sitting on my desk.
