Its not functionally different as it is also a 2-axis gimbal but it is a different design and is made out of CF instead of G10. It also comes with 2-$45 Digital servos.

Heads up for anyone buying this from overseas. They charged me extra for freight ($17 US) when the site advertises free shipping.

Maybe I'm reading it incorrectly, but it seems pretty clear that RC-Drones offers free shipping for US orders only.

Did you see its statement on the "international shipping page" that "We do not ship International however we will sometimes make exceptions if you do not have a dealer for that product in your country?"

Clear really? Surely "international shipping is extra" would be clearer but hey what would I know.

Yeah, clearly.

If they state they don't ship internationally, why would you assume that it's free when they do ship?

In any case, we shouldn't take up thread space.

Have fun flying.

Thank you for pointing this out.
That is 100% correct.
For this item we are making an exception untill we get dealers in other countries.
Just so nobody else misses it we will put something on the PhantoMount page explaining International shipping.
@Oztravels.
I am replying to your E-mail now.
Thank you for your order and paying the Priority International shipping fee.

On your website you say that you'll be uploading a tutorial video the week of 1/27/13, I can't see it on your YouTube channel, have you managed to do this yet? Thanks.

DJI Phantom gain settings with added weight

I'm a newbee, but a quick learner, so I hope you can help me.

I got your mount the day before yesterday. I ended up carefully boring out the two front wire accesses holes on the Phantom with a 5/16 drill bit which allowed me to connect directly to the Naza from the servos without extensions. A clean look, but I realized later I can't remove the camera gimbal without disassembling the Phantom again, but that's ok for now. I'll deal with that later. I added pictures.

I noticed you are using Graupner 9" x 5" e-props on your Phantom. I have 8"x5"s. Did you notice an improvement going to the large props and what were they? Also have you tinkered with some of the Naza gain settings besides the gimbal settings? I was thinking about setting the gains to 180/180/150/150 and the attitude settings to 70/70 for the increase in weight. What do you think?
