Oh, the CRASH was ALL pilot error. The pitot tube failure would have been a non-event if proper procedure had been followed. I'm just pointing out the the manufacturer of the 787 battery charging system (possible culprit) is the same one that made those defective pitot tubes. FWIW

I must agree with all reference above to pilot error.

It is the duty of the captain of a ship to take responsibility.

Not a small task, in view of the complexity.

Hm, damning with faint praise I'd say!

It is sounding more and more like a fabrication, not design issue, which is great for Boeing and those of us in the U.S.A. who believe its design is superior.

Time will tell. This is not the first instance where the design of the electrical system has caused problems.

Hopefully Boeing was on top of those issues ...

I did read that article, and a few others... Complex issue... ITS gonna be hitting the fan!
Fortunately the event wasn't worse.
Hope they get it resolved quickly.
but I doubt it.
