I can show you guys the prototype tomorrow
Yeah i understand what the current design is for Fu... but i don't see many people using servos with your camera except for you... not that i've looked much tho.

But surely there are enough people wanting a static mount to warrant a better static mount design....

I was going to buy one last nite but the lens case just puts me off....

So let's see those brackets then....

My Horyzon HD V3 Review

I put together a review video on my thoughts of the Horyzon HD V3. Here it is:
HoryzonHD V3 FPV Camera Review (2 min 5 sec)

Overall a great camera. Its nice to be able to get such good image quality from such a small device.

It's a car dvr without the case.

No, V3 is totally redesigned product for FPV, not a car DVR.

So where did the existing camera cover come from? As I stated before it looks like you had them left over from some other project. It does not look a purpose designed cover or it would come complete with a base and mounting bracket so you could fix it to a pan/tilt servo.

Come on and pony up with the pics of the purpose designed camera case you alluded to yesterday, will be happy to see something more suitable to mounting on a plain than the existing cover.

DeadStick,
how much is that Car Cam you posted up above (LINK).?

Do you think that the HHDv3 is equal to that?

Thanks Deadstick, as I suspected it is a hacked up project. I awaiting one in the mail from Foxtech so this is news to me but will be informed next time if I need a replacement. Looks like a bit of work to remove the camera and screen from the case for use in FPV and you need to be a bit handy as well.

I think foxtech did a better job than hacking the car dvr, but you can see where the roots are. No one is going to make a product like this from the ground up just for FPV, it would cost a grand a pop. To be honest, by the time you get this done (and not everyone has been successful) the foxtech may be the better deal, and if you are flying UHF control, I would be willing to bet it is the better deal.

That said, I bought the camera and cable on ebay for about $80, and am going to roll the dice. If I had to guess, it will turn out to be about like the version 1 though.

I guess you have a point, I will be using 433 so need the additional RF protection and you are risking loosing a plane for the sake of decent shielding. Anyway can't wait until I get mine to see if it as good as everyone has indicated. GoPro's give great video at the expence of size and streamline.
cheers

So even if is a car DVR and your paying extra $80 for professional hacking service by Foxtech it is still a good deal. Footage in 1080 look awesome. I am gopro die hard but this is good solution for small planes. Hacking, redesigning, reverse engineering are the very core concept of making FPV and many other cool stuff possible.
Yes, I just ordered mine V3
