Wer do what we can Charlie as the "laws" are a little nicer in the fact we can and do encourage interaction with out fear of reprise from the participant. In other words at our risk and theirs. usally not too bad a risk since working low power and small water area to eliminate possible casualties.

Well holly fun time. the weathers been nice and about to start a whole series of fun events for the next month!!
First off this weekend in the Emerald City (Seattle) the annual Tug Races and Maritime celebrations happening Saturday, May 11 on the waterfront. Most activities will be at Peir 66 with the model pond/displays, boat building contest, boat rides, tug & fire vessel demos, and of course the big tugboat parade and races!! Events from 10 am -4pm.
Next event will be on Saturday, May 25th at BIMM ( Bellingham International Maritime Museum) in Bellingham with a 1 day show and fun float. This is an indoor event to run models as well as display them and see the museum. This will be a 1 day event only this time as there are several other activities going on that weekend with the big race in town. Go towww.BIMM.US for more information and directions.
June 1&2 will be the annual display along with the Anacortes Waterfront Festival at Cap Sante Marina in Anacortes Washington. This is a static display, but water available for those that would like to run models in the harbor (salt water) and demo the fun to spectators. This is a 2 day event hosted by the Skagit r/c Shipmodelers and we invite you to bring a boat for the display and enjoy the rest of the festivities ( car shows, vendor booths, food/#25 garden, quick-n-dirty boat building and race).
And not to be forgotton is the annual NW R/C Shipmodelers Regatta in Bellevues Downtown Park. This is the premeir event of the NW Spring season with modelers from all over the area bringing their r/c craft in to compete.Scale and navigation awards to be had in variouse classes and catagories. See some of the finest model minitures anywhere going through the navigation course and examine their details up close. For more information, please go to www.shipmodelers.com.
Hope to see you out at any or all these events. Questions feel free to ask me as well.

Tug Races 05/11/2013

On Saturday i ventured south to the Emerald City of Seattle to partake the annual tug Races on Elliot Bay. Was there with Fat Cat marine and members of the NW R/C Ship Modelers as we had the pond and model display on Pier 66. This was the first time we had the display out on the pier with good private viewing of all the activities on the water and still be able to play with the models. Lots of great fun as the weather cooperated and no wind made for a very comfortable and relaxing day of fun. Fire boat demos, tug ballet, parade of boats, and of course the racing. We even had pirates and wenches near by. All in all a good day along the water. If you ever want to see this, just remember it is the 2nd Saturday of may every year.

Nope the Hunter or any others were pressent ( actually think Hunter is in Russia). Foss and Crowley both only sent over a repesentative boat dor the tug ballet , but no racing. heats and the winner thjis year was an old Miki that beat out Island Tug and Barges boat by just about half a boat length with Westerns Triumpph close behind.
Was good as there were also about 4 of the Northhampton Tugs guys have been modifying that they picked up through the Wallmart on line store.

How bad is it getting around up there with the I-5 bridge out? Cannot be fun for you, Gary, or Ron. Hopefully, they will get at least a temporary repair done quickly. Charlie
