1/32 edf F-117
Here's my latest go round of the F-117:
1/32 scale/16 " wingspan
Construction is 90% 2mm depron
"scale" 7% hexagonal airfoil
95 grams w/o battery/126 grams RTF
paint weighs 6 gr. BTW
decals are for a 1/32 plastic model
35 mm fan/6a ESC, 2s 460 Nanotech battery
Here are a few pix. I have pix of the build, if there is any interest
Here are some more pix. A few other details- Wings and stabilizers are made from a single piece of 2mm depron folded along the leading edge and "capped" with 1/2" Blenderm tape.Spars are 3mm depron with (2)pieces in parallel to form the elevon hinge line. Glue is mostly Sobo. Some foam safe CA here and there. Inlet and exhaust ducting is .004 clear plastic (PVC?) I got from HK. Outlet area is "calculated" as 85% FSA.
For the ones who will have questions about flight characteristics, I have no doubt that it will fly well! I was challenged by one of my flying buddies to design a "scale" edf that would be able to slow down enough to fly at our local rec center. We should find out tomorrow!
