It was designed by DP for F3J. What else does anyone need to know

In addition, it looks awesome and the build is immaculate. Span is 3.7-ish and it uses a 6-servo wing. DP uses all Airtronics 809 servos in his. 2-piece wing and I would venture a guess that it is very strong.

Tappet, the last time I flew one of DP's ships was this reject, second hand thing called the Insanity, it did me good. I will take a chance on the Vixen for sure.

Hi Tappet,

I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I've been flying mine for a few months now. Keep in mind that I'm not easily impressed. I'm.... impressed. The wing is very well behaved and quite floaty. The model was designed with the J task in mind - launch hard and fast, and land slowly with the ability to work the last 1/2 second more easily. The games that can be played with the multiple control surfaces in landing mode are really fun, and I've got mine landing really slooooooowwwww.... but even so, I feel like I'm barely scratching the surface on what can be accomplished here. I can't wait to see what some of you guys come up with.

With regards to the V tail.... you guys need to shed your prejudice against V tails for J or TD. There is no detriment to a properly designed V tailed model. The Vixen tracks as well or better than anything I've flown in recent years.

I can obviously go on and on about it... but I'm really looking forward to getting a few of them out there, sharing some set up data, and seeing what you guys think. Pictures to follow this weekend.

That truly would be a magical plane. I think it would be called "The Miracle".

Why do You think there's a prejudice towards v-tails here in the US? I've noticed a lot of pilots outside the US have had a high degree of success flying V-tails but we seem to shy away from them. I will say that after flying the Egida I am more open minded towards v-tails in general. The plane looks good DP, can't wait to see one in person.

DP's own opinion on V's and Cross tails has changed. I still contend that for pure yaw handling a vertical fin is better than a V. But there are plenty of pros for V tails that lend to an overall glider design that works very well. Those pros make that yaw handling difference close to negligible in consideration of the other plusses they offer.

Bring on the Vixen!
