I think this system is great, but need to know if it can handle real cameras and not just sports cameras. I film for TV events etc and use a heavy lift Y6, the camera and lens weighs 2 kg on it's own.

Would it be a simple matter of using rewound motors with more torque?

Cheers,

Steve

Just saw the motor rewinding video - never done it myself; seems like a lot of work but definitely doable.
Out of curiosity - will 'factory' rewinded motors be available along with the controller?Asking since some of us could probably use current gimbal frames and fairly easily adapt them for the system...
Could you please give me the link to the video your are referring to?

Thanks!

Hi all, having just seen the videos, I am amazed as most people are.

I'm struggling to understand who's project this is? I've been over to the German site and got confused.

Are we just waiting for a full kit to become available, for the GoPro gimbal + controller that is?

If anyone can clarify that would be great, cheers!

Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=0MnGtXJAM08 - found it on Aleksey's website.

@Vitalik That's what I call a test

@dambit I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work with DSLR's + lens or even bigger cams. Personally I'm happy that Vitalik's NEX project is up and running since that's my current weapon of choice.

I'd love to get mine on it too Having said that I see a pattern here - the designer is from Russia, Vitalik is from Ukraine - if only you guys would be willing to move just a bit more to the west- I'm from Poland

I can't wait to buy or build a dslr version for this. Obviously the rewind is easy to do and it seems to perform well.

Here is someone trying it with a bigger engine:
SBGC & big 4830 22Pole Outrunner (2 min 9 sec)
