Modelltechnik Kits

Has anyone had any experience with these models? I've liked the Thermal Plank for a while but now they have an interesting Alparabel.

Who can translate the instructions for us Amerikaner?

That's a very interesting site. To translate it just copy the URL and paste it into Google Translate - easy peasy.

That Alparabel does look interesting. It would probably be a bit more stable with some winglets. It looks quite similar to my Jupp Wimmer designed Sif.

I wondered what it would be like without winglets.

Found this, nice looking wing.I don't read German, but the wing appears to have very little twist.I presume it uses the control surface to "mimic" the effect?

I enjoyed that vid - the Alparabel is a real smooth flier and looks like a nice thermaler too. I find the winglets on the Sif make it pretty peppy

Is that Polyspan on your Parabola?

I built the Parabola when I was young (and stupid) and didn't know about Polyspan. I used doped tissue with acyrlic paint on top. It came out light, but fragile and I am foverever repairing the covering. It's due for a recover now (five years on), so will probably go with Polyspan.
