Cox Pinto funny car Bill Schifsky teather car

I am selling a piece from my own private collection. I have a Cox Pinto funny car in very good shape, considering it's age it is in excellent condition. Look at the pictures, no scratches at all underneath it, parachute container and parachute intact. Tires, body, fake motor, chassis all in excellent condition. Body prop rod included. Stickers are almost perfect but a few small spots pealing. .049 turns over perfectly, no gas residue anywhere, in fact I doubt it was ever fueled. Looks like a shelf queen to me!

$200.00 OBO shipped to anywhere in the conUS
Paypal payment only

I need Spektrum DSMX full range receivers I would consider for partial trades.

I wouldn't sell it if I didn't have a cleaner one still in the box in my collection.

I had the red "Top Fuel" rail dragster that was the "brother" to this car. Just as a matter of mentioning, this is not really what is considered a "tether" car, as a tether car runs in a circle. These cars were designed to be ran on a straight line (ala a drag strip) tied between two pins driven into the ground, hence the two "eyelets" on the bottom of the car through which the line was run. The line had a tapered "bead" that was tied into it towards the end, and when the "triggers" on the bottom of the car (the two slotted tabs in the middle of the car) hit that bead it shut the engine off, and also popped the parachute too. And yes, I had mine in about 1971.

Awesome.....brings back many memories for me...TY.

You made reference to your private collection. Any chance you could share a few photos of your gems? Of course not for sale.....just to tease us a lil.

Good luck with your sale.

Tail heavy, too much glue.....

I push mowed a lot of acres to buy that car when I was kid ....and shoveled lots snow. By the time I was finished with my Vega it was more duct tape than plastic...LOL. The same happened to my Messerschmitt CL plane, except when the plane became to heavy to fly from the duct tape repairs it transformed into some kind of un-manned ground vehicle, not unlike a Mad Max movie looking rig.
