Pyro M.
I did read your thread, nice and a lot of good assistants. One picture I do want you to show, my coping saw and spiral hand drill. These are my most important tools to cut ribs and formers of plywood but also to saw hard wood, aluminum and even steel, Just use sharp blades and the right liquids for metal. I will have attention for the project of the Minnie Mambo! Added a photograph of the Taurus in his underwear. Success, Cees |

TF, nice. I particularly like that drill- I get most stuff done with a cordless drill and a higher-RPM Menards rotary tool, but it seems like a hand-powered one would be more controllable. At some point I'll acquire enough money to buy all the neat tools I see around here, but that's a ways off
I've just been cutting ribs for a new plane. Hopefully at least the wing will be framed up tonight; if it is I'll post some pics here. Gonna be a little 24" 3D/sport plane similar in design to the MM MiniFlash, ideally slow and light enough for the front yard. |

Nice looking framework Lance. Your own design work or possibly a Thorjet per chance? I agree, great idea for a thread.

Definitely love this thread so far
Tim, any details/more pics of that Clean Sweep? Looks like a sweet plane. I have an awful soft spot for T-tails.... And Slipsos, I guess Here's another Slipso, a T-tail variant, which I built sometime last year. |

[QUOTE I was just perusing the various forums and it struck me that there are an astounding number of extremely talented folks contributing to this site. Who says building is dead?!!![/QUOTE]
I can't agree more. There is such a sense of pride and accomplishment in a balsa built kit. With so many arf's and foam tearing up the sky, I fear that the passion for building will go away and no one will know what its like to have balsa glued to your fingertips, lol. I've been out of the hobby for a few years but I'm finding myself drawn back to it, dusting off the half built kits in my garage preparing them to be airworthy. Thank you for this thread!! |

I use to fly about 12 years ago, all balsa gas or gliders. I miss the smell of the Nitro and feeling of running your hands across the wing for spots to sand just that tiny bit more to make it just that much better. Telling myself "I don't care if nobody will see it, I have to"
I miss that, I miss that almost more than I missed flying. I recently got back into flying. Now into electric foam. Although it does seem to allow you to relax a little when you fly I can't help but want to take a step back and start another build. Though I fear the lack of space currently will prevent me. Viva Balsa! |

This just gets better and better !
I believed the talented builders were gone ! I know photo displays are part of the building threads, but when you put them in their OWN area, it becomes a library of uncommon quality efforts. I look forward to each new addition. How do we bring back model building , indeed ! |

This is the best thread going on RCG right now.
Mark W., what's the story on the Gee Bee Z? I want to build one but looking for one in the 60" WS range. Julian edit: disregard, saw it was the Mazano "Z". |
