And I didn't even mention the 82 inch span Yak-11! It's much further along now but I don't have any pictures and the airframe is in storage at the moment.

Then there is the .40 size Yak-3 currently on the drawing board for warbird racing. Yeah, I'm kind of fond of the Yaks!

Wow! That are some pretty awesome plane pics in this thread!

I started my first balsa build about a week ago and all that I've finished is the wing. The plane will be a Minnie Mambo powered by a little Cox .049 . . . .

Pyroman,

Your Minnie Mambo will be nice and you will be proud when it's finished.
A good start you already made and for sure not bad for one week!.
\Success with next stage.

That would be a sad waste of talent Julian but I do appreciate the very kind words from as skilled a modeler as yourself. I was just perusing the various forums and it struck me that there are an astounding number of extremely talented folks contributing to this site. Who says building is dead?!!!

Beautiful Tom! As you know I prefer the WW2 heavy metal myself but most of them can't compete with the WW1 and Golden Age birds when it comes to the "bare bones" competition. There's just nothing quite as nice as a beautifully engineered and built stick or tube type structure. Some of the vintage gliders like the "Balestruccio" that ARUP posted on the previous page are pure art and it's almost a shame to cover them up. I don't have that concern with my WW2 birds and usually can't wait to get glass and resin on 'em!

Thanks for the info, Slope. I know that his design is a good flyer.

Thanks, Chad.

As you know, I love to glue sticks together. My Golden Age models feed my addiction.

It's always tough for me to start covering a plane. I like to enjoy all the wood work for a while.

Here's my F-20

Lots of beautiful nekkid birds in this thread. Good idea.
