Flying, crashing, (re)building
Yeah its short on facts... don't know whether the guy was a fellow flier, a by-stander or just some random guy on the hill... I can't imagine the pilot feels all that good right now. Reminds me of a thread I once read years ago on the internet about some poor bastard who got killed by an out of control RC heli...

He'll be right. The police blamed it on the wind. Looks like the wind is going to gaol.

now i do not feel so bad about hitting a mate with my 800mm span brushless PT17 last month but that was the wind of course and it probably saved my plane.

gotta feel for the pilot as well as the bloke that died

There was a guy hit in the back of the head by an electric sports plane in Sydney around 15 years back. I believe they had to leave the M3 screw that held the spinner on, in his scull, as would have been too dangerous to remove it. Play safe and always shout out if going on the landing strip to retrieve.

not making light of the subject, but I once copped a DS-ing M-60 in the back of the head/neck doing about 60 mph. I was retrieving my plane and didn't know someone was dropping in..........I think I was "supposed" to be buzzed, given the guys knew I was doing the walk of shame, but given my oversized head he misjudged slightly

point was whilst it hurt for a minute or so, it wasn't bad. Thing to remember though it was an EPP plane, and whilst it was around a kilo, and a kilo of anything has fair energy at that speed, the foam obviously took most of it. If it was a pointy nose mouldie however, I'd hate to think.....
