That's right Thomas, you need to make Vegas again!

Pulled the vertical out this morning and trimmed it. Came out beautiful and it is much more scale. It gave me a weight penalty of 1 oz over the Depron one but I can live with that. Have the LE glued on and will shape it later.
Canopy sanded and still some work to finish it.

Bruce,
If you use the plunge method it should work. I use a piece of lite ply and make a cut out just a bit larger than the plug. Fasten a piece of plastic over the ply hole. Put the plug on a stick, heat the plastic and then shove the plug up through the hole in the ply. Let it cool before you release the pressure on the plug. If that doesn't work then I would say try diff plastic.

Mostly grunt work today. I contacted Sparky and discussed the plug. He suggested I make a base for it( the plug is not flat) and sand it flat. That will allow the plastic to make a uniform pull. Sparky is The Man! So I did. Hope to have it ready to ship out on Monday.

Then I started some cosmetic work on the fuse. Digging out glue and spackling.

Alright J thanks I think I'm not getting it hot enough I 'll break out my toaster oven
and crank it to 250 degrees and see what happens.

Your project looks great by the way,

Looking good John. Is there nothing YOU can't build out of foam?

Gives me hope on my next build!

I have no doubt you will fly this thing with no problems Hans, You are just too good of a pilot to have problems.

Thanks Cooler! Hope you are feeling better and progressing well.

Well, Spring Hill TN had a swap meet this morning so I stopped by. Pretty typical, but I did find a plane I've wanted for awhile to play around in my grass field with.
Would have preferred a little larger one but..... this one will do. A 72" ws Telemaster 40. It's a slimer build but not for long. May change it to a tail dragger, haven't decided yet. It is well built, stout, and has the aileron servos installed. Had a $60 price tag, he said make me an offer and I threw out $40. SOLD!

Got back and into the grunt work. Working on the fuse top, all cosmetic stuff. Digging out GG and replacing with spackle. I used 1/32" ply strips embedded in the LE strake section and the vertical fin base. This gives me a nice hard edge to sand to. Tomorrow, more of the same.
And still working on the canopy plug.

Yeah, I do sort of feel bad. The guy probably paid around $90 for the kit, had to build it, and then cover with Monocote. But then he said yes, could have said no. I'm sure he has the same problem I have, running out of room.
