Hello...Hello...Hello...Hello...Hello...

Hmmm... no one home.

I know, I know I haven't exactly been posting much. I have been following the progress or lack of though. Sorry for abandoning you. But my job went from "sitting on my thumbs" to "don't have time to think" overnight.

Waiting patiently ...

LOL^^^ You funny mon, Yea, works been kicking my arse. I have been trying to get some work done on the S7. I have managed to get the wings final sanded, LE is shaped and is now bullet proof (kevlar) I started to apply the spread tow, one side of the wing is curing. This stuff is easy to work with and is unbeliveable strong. I'll post some photo's tonight...

Well, not as much as I'd like to have done but what IS done looks

Fist the leading edges got a layer of +-45* kevlar and thinned epoxy then the carbon fiber spread tow... BA- BLING!! Cut, wet out with a roller and West's, apply to wing , roll over a paper towel, apply perforated film and work out all air bubbles and absorbs resin with a paper towel.....BLING!! BLING!! Still have the tips to do.

Cap'n, the spread tow is very easy work with. The binder really is nice that it holds the tows in lock down. The perforated film is like a reverse vacuum bag in that once you have all excess resin removed from the fabric, just lay down the film, stretch the film very tight and squeegee out the small air bubbles by pressing lightly on the film with a paper towel with a little acetone on it. Air can escape through perforations but resin blocks the holes from sucking air back in. Let the resin fully cure, then just pull off the plastic film. Another great thing about the film is once the resin has popped, (about 1 1/2 hours) you can just trim the film at the edge of the fabric line and keep right on working with the panel. Resin is covered by the film so no dust or debris to stick to the uncured resin...

Dang IHAVA..., you've got skills my friend! That looks spectacular, and I'm sure that it will fly sweetly too! I can't wait to see how this all comes together

Perforated film eh? Where does one find that slick building aid??

Cheers,

Rob
