Boeing 747 airliner micro build!

I know I know, 747s have been done over And over but it's my first scratch build so I'm hoping it'll stay in the air for at least 30 seconds :P

So far I've done some of the fuse and getting ready to mount electronics/build wings. It'll be powered by a single 1s or 2s and with what motor I don't know yet but here's the first picture

Fuse length is about 20"

It'll be powered by a ar6400 brick and 4x ducted fans on 1s 500mah to help get the COG right.

AUW is unknown but I'm hoping for extremely slow scale flights

Wings glued in! I know there's some upwards dehidral but its to help elevate the outboard pylons from causing too much stress on the wings during landing

And yes it's a belly flopper for now until a successful maiden comes along I'll fabricate some fixed gears out of music wire

Don't forget washout!! You can easily add it with a hairdrier!

Also note:

1. the purpose of washout is not to prevent tip-stall, but rather to allow ALL the wing sections to fly at optimal AoA w.r.t. the airflow which twists, that is, is more or less parallel to the up-tilted fuselage [note angles of nose Pitot tubes!] at the wing root, but parallel to the flight path at some distance outboard of the tips. [This came to me from the head of advanced design at Grumman].

2. because of the poor performance of airflows [L/D, etc] at these low Rn's, such small models as yours MUST have greater-than-scale washout, as our models have to fly at greater AoA's than fullsize. [Trust me on this].

so, for best performance, incl. L/D, power req., control & stability >
com'on baby .... twist & shout

You're gonna have a hard time finding tiny 1S fans to run that thing on. What about 4x pushers on the back of the engine pods?

I'll make a pusher engine pod style as you stated, if I like the way it flys I might up the scale to fit 30mm edfs

These may help.

They have 15mm edf units.

Another edf unit resource. 1/74th scale mig. It's teenie.
