Is the Kitty Hawk re-enactment carried live by any network?

The subject line says it all.....I'm off tomorrow (Laid off still that is ) and would like to watch it if possible. Anyone know?

You'll be disappointed in knowing that it didn't fly.

It's not whether it flew or not.

I'm sure we all want to see the attempt.

This isn't the first time the Wright Brothers' feat has been underestimated. I've built the Revell plastic model and I'm in the middle (both wings complete) of the balsa Guillow's model. You'd need a genius (or two) to make that thing fly.

The other thing that isn't readily recognized is that the Wright's treated their early flyers as "disposable" airplanes that got thrown away after they inevitably broke. (Sound familiar, RC'ers?)>

Regards.

Actually, it never left the hanger. I forget what the issue was, but they never even moved it out to the field.

It was quite interesting though to watch them build the replica. They were pretty darn serious about getting every last detail exact.

The show said something about the 4-cylinder motor costing like 100k to reproduce by some Swedish guy.

There is more than one group building a replica......the one that will be at KittyHawk will indeed make an attempt (weather permiting)
You must be refering to a different group WJ ?

According to this, the replica that's due to fly tomorrow has already flown successfully in a test run.

Last I heard, she's not gonna be ready for tommorow, due to 'tech' difficulties! She will fly very soon though! Remember, to try to duplicate the past is too technically difficult these days! ( How many R.C. aircraft have we stuffed in the last 2 weeks!) I rest my case! Happy Holidays, Mark--
