Brando Footy build

I fell in love with a footy named "Brando".
It's designed by a well known naval architect named Flavio Faloci, and the plans are sold by The Wooden Boat Store.

I'm going to post pictures as I go along.
Hopefully some of you will enjoy watching this all wooden footy go together.
When I launch it, I will post pictures of that too, probably in the spring since the water is getting hard up here in the frozen north.

I'll be watching!
I am building a Razor3, looks easy, but I have screwed up a few times .
The look of a wooden boat is always nice.
Thanks for posting.

Okay, this brings me up to date, don't know how much I'll get done over the holidays, not much time time to work on it, guests, travelling etc.

Merry Christmas to all!

She's looking real nice.

Can't wait to see the finished product. Are you going to paint, stain or both?

Mostly spar varnish.
I'll paint below waterline.
Might use some stain or veneers for contrast.
For instance, I'm working on the louvered doors on the companionway now with 1/64 cherry veneer.

Louvered doors

Got the louvred doors done.

I cut some blanks from 1/64 ply, put 1/64" cherry veneer stiles (square cut), down the sides, installed louvres, then added the stiles on top and bottom (again square cut).

Put another layer of stiles on top of the first layer only with mitred corners. (3 layers in all)

I used 1/64 cherry veneer for the louvres and stiles.

Lots of tweezer work, and sharp knives.

I bought the plans as well. It's a beautiful little boat. I will enjoy your build.
