V202 Review UPDATE: Recalibrating your accelerometers and Deviation Hack

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Recalibrating your V202\V212\V222:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1916485
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1916478

The V2x2 series can now be controlled using any Devo transmitter that's capable of running the Deviation hack:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=24998249

Reserved.............but right now I can tell you it's REALLY stable. Let me tell you, WL Toys never disappoints me. The supplied 25C lipos seem to have some decent punch, unlike the former V939 batteries which were some of the worst I've seen on any RC flyer I've tried. They actually seem to have more punch than the Mini Pet batteries, but I need to do more testing. We didn't get many extras as we didn't know how good the lipos were going to be.

If I can describe it........take the X4, give it some decaff to calm its nerves, and you have the personality of the V202. It's still very aggressive and nimble, just not as epileptic.

Flips: Flip after flip after flip after flip. Need to go to 100% to do flips and you simply move cyclic to extreme to do a flip, so you can do an accidental flip, but unlike most of the other quads at 100% rates you're guaranteed to do a flip instead of crashing if you accidently go too far. 80% can be flown inside but most will probably use 60%.

Couple more flight tests. The problem with the X4\6044 are that the cyclic isn't linear so you get the gerbil\bee\dragonfly effect. The cyclic on the v202 is smoooooth and linear. One thing that the V202 carries on from it's brother the V939 is nice smooth banked turns. Something I've come to miss since retiring my V939.

The scorpion canopy is a fat pig at 2.2 grams vs the beetle canopy which is 1.4 grams. We have both in stock (beetle comes in red, yellow and purple)

The quad sans canopy and battery is 28.4 grams.

RX board top:

That extra plug turns on\off with the LEDs via the former flip button. I can now run my 808 cam without having to solder a lead onto the board.

Bottom:

And the question you've all been asking............NO, it's not Turnigy 9X \ FlySky compatible

The V202 comes with the same dual lipo charger the V939 came with and while it comes with black and green blades mounted, the spares are black and orange.

The LEDS seem to be pretty bright, still not as good as the Mini Pet's, but decent enough to see for night time flying.

Tommorrow is the outdoor test, and I'll try to get some videos done as well.

Thanks to Syntex for the following:

Not Turnigy 9X \ FlySky compatible Is a deal breaker for me as I would love to have a 939 type with 6 axis control but only if I could use my 9X with it.

How does the V202 compare to the 6044? It's a shame neither one is compatible with the 9x. I was thinking of getting one as my first hobby grade tx. But there doesn't seem to be much support for it, aside from the V949/V929, the Vitality, and crappy V939. And the DIY or ARF kits, of course.

... and does the V202 have the yo-yo effect of it's predecessor , the V939 ?

Variant, I'm meeting up with Cyber Bill to do more extensive testing. Winds are a steady 18-19 mph so I'm bringing the fleet out to test them all (H36, V202, 6044\MP Hybrid, MP original, and X4). Also I'm showing your package scheduled to be delivered on the 24th.

The V939's yo-yo ing was mostly due to its impotent stock battery. The few flight tests I've done on the V202 exhibited no yo-yo ing with the MP batteries and is even better with its stock batteries.

The V202 battery has the same part number as the MP which is 752030, but has a 25C stamp instead of the usual 15C. WL Toys listened to the complaints about the V939 batteries.

Well the flight tests went great and it was great to meet Bill. I'll upload videos soon. Bill btw, wouldn't previously bother coming outside to fly in 18-20mph winds, but I think that's about to change.

The sport of micro quads is going to take over where the V911 left off due to it's limitations. How extreme of conditions can we fly them in?

Is the V202 better than the Hubsan? You'll have to wait for Bill's reply but I think the sub $70 king has been dethroned.

The overall theme of today's testing: Get out of the kitchen and living room and get into the wind!!

Videos as promised:

And although this is the V202 thread, here's the H36:

I flew my V949 out in the wind today. It was very windy for this area and my quad took it very well. No complaints. I'm sure my U816 will handle it even better when I get my new props. I think cold and moisture are bigger problems, however. And the sun, which I hate having in my eyes. Give me a moderately warm, cloudy day for optimum flying. The wind only makes it funner.

When do you think you'll have the V202's (or 6044's) and it's props in stock?

Now you tell me. I may cancel my X4 from Banggood and get a V202 when its ready. I know this is a dumb question, but how do you cancel a Banggood order? I'm still new to the whole paypal thing.

Send an email to cservice@banggood.com with the ordernumber you want to cancel.
Just as simple as that. They will cancel it and do a full refund.
No need to open a case at paypal.
