New CopterX CX-3X2000 Flybarless Gyro

Looks like there is a new 2000 series CopterX gyro (CX-3X2000):

New firmware v2.4: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...&postcount=759
New firmware v2.2: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...&postcount=641
See the function of the pots below.

*** NOT HOT ***
Currently nothing.

The price is currently $49.99. It has 3 pots, more LEDs (12 + Status) and all removable leads. Still a full metal case, and good to see the button more accessible. I also like the new black label.

Interestingly, the manual doesn't say what the three pots do, but one has to believe they do cyclic gains and something else for the third. I remember when the CX-3X1000 first came out and there was only Tx programming, that some of the settings required you to keep track of what they were set to by counting the flashes and adding or subtracting them from the value you thought it was set to. This gets around that issue and still allows Tx programming.

FUNCTION OF THE POTS:
We are now told that the pots set the gain for the rudder, elevator and aileron, and that the software settings for gain have no effect.

Pots:
I = Rudder gain
II = Elevator gain
III = Aileron gain

The manual is virtually the same as the cx-3x1000, and the software is identical ?!

It's hard to say yet whether much has changed in the firmware, other than supporting the pots. I think it's a good step forward from the v1, with the button more accessible and the leads all being removable.

I'm not sure whether the pots are a good idea, as this limits installation options and is something else to go wrong. I can't see how the pots and the PC software work together yet. It would be nice if the pots can be overridden, but I can't see how this can be possible with the same v1.2 PC software.

My thought exactly. I don't need another flybarless gyro, but I sure hope this is not the answer to the quirks on the 1000. I think the v1 as it has been stated still works fine with some quirks. It's nice that they have something else, but...lets see what happens and hope both get the same attention. Why would I buy another of their products when not much has happened with the first one? Just a thought. Okay their software is terrible. Don't get me wrong, it looks nice. It looks like you may not need an external programmer which is good too.

got a response back from ehirobo about the new gyro, its not replacing the 1000, its simply added the pots and also the ability to work on planes as a flight stabilizer and quad flight controllers. so to all that ordered the 1000, we're good

After the spectacular failure of CX to provide any updates or support for the 3x1000 I'm disinclined to jump on the early adopters' band wagon with this one.

hmmmm, I have 3 3X1000s flying, I just picked up 2 ZYX-S for Christmas because of the updates. I am anxious to see if I can tell a difference in these otherwise identical controllers. This latest controller looks like a BeastX clone, I'm wondering if there is any relation to the 3x1000. That bigaole FBL controller is getting lots of shilling on this site as many of the OPs appear to be on the bigaole payroll, I think this is one of the many bigaole copies packaged for CopterX. Honestly, I don't believe CopterX makes any of these controllers.

Anyway, I could be wrong, I am just babbling my thoughts openly

Wor, you guys are quick. This is not a replacement for the 3x1000 this is more a higher version. The board is brand new and the cpu is different. Major differents includes the following:

1: Processing time 50 times faster than the 3x1000
2: Able to work with flybarless helicopter, Quad, and airplane (need optional cx-pb-002 usb cable)
3: removable cable for clean and easy installation
4: future update to work with spekturm satellite and s-bus.

Don't worry, the cx-3x1000 will still be available.

And yes, the PB-001 and PB-002 setup box will work with CX-3X2000.

Thanks for the info, ehirobo. Can you tell us what the 3 pots (I, II & III) do? And also how the pots work with the settings in the PC software, if they do the same thing as one of the settings?
