Flat propellers is not the same as not the same as transitioning into flat pitch when doing tic tocs and piro flips......warthox does not do tic tocs or piro flips, he just does flips and loops......making a propeller flat does not change the trailing edge....When you reverse a prop you are going against an airfoil that is not effective for lift....Collective pitch like on the stingray is the only way you will be able to achieve hard core 3D.....I look forward to purchasing the stingray when it is marketed....

Yes the Stingray has more parts, but it is far more aerobatic, which I believe is the intention.

Tech69x,

If you have been flying quads it should be an easy transition. It flies a lot like a regular quad just with a larger flying envelope. If you have not done much inverted or 3D type flying those are just new elements to enjoy learning.

I saw some videos of the figure 8 racing but I did not look into the details. I assume you guys setup a set course and then race to time?

Matwelli's rules...

The course is to fly a figure 8 track around 2 points 20 meters/66 feet apart, for 5 laps

that distance was chosen as most places around the world have access to a cricket pitch (20.1 meters between stumps) or its easily marked out , with a 66 ft long piece of rope

Great idea, I reckon. Threads been quiet of late though.

Soma,

Thanks, I will have to give it a try. What is considered a "good time" at this point?
