Oh, I'm sure. Just prodding in jest. I'm actually glad he's keeping it close -- something this unique is a huge growth opportunity for him.

Perhaps. I'm at a moderate skill level where I'd be comfortable trying the 3D quad - orientations, circuits, forward & backward flight, some inverted, and big sport maneuvers, but nothing really 3D.

Lately I've been toying with the idea of getting a basic 450 quad, but it'd only be for line-of-sight flying, as I don't have many video/FPV ambitions (yet?). Given this, perhaps I'll wait for this more-capably aerobatic design.

I have been doing more of the FPV flying lately with the 3D Quad and find it to be a lot of fun. I highly recommend it as just something else fun to do in this hobby.

That's what I'm planning on doing with mine once you start selling them. Going to get 2, one for general FPV stut flying and another to put a gimbal on to test out the stability flying a camera with a CP quad.

I can say the wind stability is quite good with the 3D Quad. It sits better in the wind than my helicopters do. Less bouncing with each wind gust. The quick collective response and small individual disks really seems to work well in a wind for stable hovering.

Curtis, You may be onto something new in the AP world. Be prepare to be asked to go bigger than a quad, like a hex, or event an octo. AP is always looking for more stable, and more efficiency in energy.

Curtis, which FC board are you using on your 3D quad ?

Read the previous page... where someone answered the first time you asked.

More stable this one can give you, more efficient though this is not. This one will be setup more toward the performance side as opposed to efficiency. It is not bad on efficiency, it just does not outperform regular quads in terms of flight times or battery draw. That will require different airfoil designs etc...

But as you said, the future might bring all kinds of things.

There is code for MultiWii controllers, if your up to it.

However, this might not be the right place to discuss that...

I like the name. Good work. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been curious since there haven't been much movement in this thread lately. Any chance that there will be a prototype at the ARCA fun fly next month?

Now all it needs is the pre-order button, or better yet, an order button.
